The Jane Austen Centre  houses a permanent exhibition telling the story of Jane’s experience in the city between 1801 and 1806 and the effect that living here had on her and her writing. Interesting introductory talk, film show and small exhibition.

Retrace your steps down Gay Street and turn left into Old King Street. Walk on to turn right into John Street. The Salamander will be on your left.

Turn right out of the Raven and then right again into Quiet Street. Turn right into New Bond street and then left into Green Street. The Old Green Tree will be on your right.

12 Green Street, BA1 2JZ. Open from 11am all day. Butcombe Bitter, Green Tree, Pitchfork. This is the oldest pub in bath. Three tiny rooms served from the same bar. Hearty food served.

Retrace your steps down Green Street to turn left into New Bond Street. Follow the road round as it curves left to turn right into New Bond Street Place.
